Behind every great DIY is a Ball® Mason jar! From practical uses like food and makeup storage to home decor like pendant lights and even innovative fine art, Ball® Mason jars are being reinvented in every facet of life. A few Ball® Mason jars, rose gold spray paint, and a couple of thrifted shirts walk into a bar and come out this easy and personalized DIY!
MATERIALS
- Ball® mason jars (various sizes)
- old shirts/fabric with cutout designs (I picked up a couple of shirts with from Goodwill, obviously)
- spray paint
- tape
- string
- stencil/cutout
- rubber band
- flowers
DIY
1. Choose your desired materials and cut into rectangle. I experimented with different patterns such as tulle, initial stickers, painter’s tape, and string to achieve my desired look.
2. Wrap the material around the jar and secure with a rubber band. Tape and string are definitely the easiest so start here if you are hesitant.
3. Make sure the material lies flat on the Ball® Mason jar and fits snugly so you get a consistent pattern.
4. Spray one thin layer. (If you don’t have a large outside area for painting, I suggest using a box. It makes cleanup much easier!) Wait 10 minutes and layer another thin layer.
5.Let dry completely before removing the material, 15-20 minutes.
6. Unwrap and add flowers!
I grouped several of my creations together to create this centerpiece for our island! I love how the large Ball® Mason jar with the initial turned out and will definitely be making this again as for a hostess or “just because” gift! These would also be great with tea lights for a party!
