Dress: Somdays Lovin via Goodwill (Similar Splurge // Save); Shoes: Steve Madden (ON MAJOR SALE!): Purse: Kate Spade via Rent the Runway
One recurring theme throughout the Fall 2017 runway trends is vintage everything. The vintage inspo in Gucci’s Fall Winter 2017 ads makes my thrifter heart skip a beat. Lucky for me and my bank account, four popular fall trends can be found at my local Goodwill. If you’re a noob Goodwill shopper and don’t know what to look for, start with this list of fall trends!
Red AF
Red has always been a power color, but there’s no more powerful fashion statement than monochromatic red. If head-to-toe read makes you cringe, try incorporating a bold red accessory like a handbag or coat.
Velvet, Errrrrythang
Velvet had its shining moment last fall, but its 15 minutes of fame aren’t over yet. Black velvet was everything last year, but lean more towards jewel tones like sapphire, turquoise, and emerald green. This is the velvet jacket of my DREAMS (and totally out of my budget)!
Vintage Florals
Remember when Kim Kardashian wore the Givenchy floral dress to the Met Gala and the term “couch florals” was born? Well, “couch florals” or my preferred term, vintage florals, are a huge fall trend. Vintage florals can be found in every corner of Goodwill. Have an open mind!
Dark Romance
I’m not sure why this is one of my favorite fall trends, maybe it’s my inner emo kid finally shining through or I’m just a hopeless romantic. Think goth, with a romantic touch like this ahhhmazing Zimmerman piece or more reasonable and equally stunning Forever 21 number.
Today is a pretty special day because it’s THRIFT SHOP DAY! *praise hands* I’m celebrating by posting one of my recent favorite Goodwill finds from Goodwill Chicago. (My luggage was lost on a recent trip to Chicago, and it turned out to be a win-win because I got this dress AND I got my luggage back.)

I love the ‘dark romance’ trend! All the jewel tone colors and gorgeous textures like velvet and lace!
