New Year’s Eve Glam for Under $25

New Year’s Eve Glam for Under $25

Post-holiday hangover leaving you uninspired, eating Top Ramen, and a strained budget? Do you have an extra $25 and want to get glam for the last night of 2016?! I’ve teamed up with Audrey from Affectionately Audrey to bring you a head-to-toe New Year’s Eve look from Goodwill less than $25.00!

NYE $25 Challenge

Audrey and I had a blast shopping together. Audrey’s style and undeniable ability to make the most obscure piece in the store completely relatable and current inspired me to push the boundaries of my style comfort zone.

I’ve never walked into a Goodwill with intending to create a head-to-toe look. To be completely honest, this challenge intimidated me! I using discourage others from searching for something extremely specific or creating an entire look on a single Goodwill shopping trip. You usually come up empty-handed.

A challenge like this calls for a strategy. I started with shoes because shoes are the most hit or miss section at Goodwill. Finding a shoe would help me build the rest of the look from the ground up. Luckily, I found a pair of Nine West strappy sandals like these which gave me a blank canvas to complete the rest of my NYE look.

After striking out in the dress section, I turned to Plan B, metallics. Nothing screams NYE quite like metallics, so I grabbed a buggy full of silver and gold pieces.

I really enjoyed shopping with Audrey. She pushed me out of my fashion comfort zone. Though this lilac blazer didn’t make the final NYE look, I snagged it anyway.

I dig this color block metallic turtleneck too, but it didn’t quite give me the NYE look I wanted.

I finally settled on the look below, sheer black pants paired with a blush lace top and blazer with metallic accessories. This look would be perfect for a NYE’s dinner with your SO or dinner party with your girlfriends. But, did I pull off this look for UNDER $25.00???

YES! I purchased all of the items listed below on the same shopping trip except the blazer (purchased the previous day) and earrings (from Goodwill Online) for under $25. Here’s the breakdown:

Halogen (Nordstrom private label) Blazer: $3 (50% off)

Forever 21 Top: $2.25 (50% off)

Pants: $2.25 (50% off)

Nine West Shoes: $5.99

Anne Klein Belt: $1.99

Vintage Clutch: $2.99

Earrings: <$1

TOTAL: $19.47

FYI: Second-hand clothing and shoes are tax exempt in TN.  (Saved an extra $2!)
