The weather has been 50 shades of crazy lately. Winter parka one day and shorts the next. Oh, the joys of spring in the South! When is the right time to banish your sweaters to storage and break out the florals, pastels, and biggest spring trends? (Curios what trends will be all the rage this spring? Check out my post on spring trends to shop at Goodwill here!) There are no hard and fast rules for a successful spring style transition, but I will give you a few tips to make this tricky time less painful.
- Ditch the OTK boots. Nobody is a fan of knee cap sweat. You don’t have to give up your boots completely, but opt for a bootie or mid-calf style. Here, I’m rocking the bootie because these legs haven’t seen the light of day since the Obama administration.
- Color. Start to incorporate bright colors or pastels back into your wardrobe. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to wait until Easter to introduce color or white back into your wardrobe.
- Contrast. If you picked up a floral maxi dress in preparation for spring, pair it with a black leather jacket like this one. In this look, I paired this white Parker top with feminine detailing with a black leather skirt to contrast with the lace and ruffles and make the top appropriate for the transitioning season.
With the spastic weather we are having in Nashville over the next couple of days, these tips will come in handy! Do you have any other style hacks for transitioning between seasons? Leave me a comment below!
