Kendall, Gigi, and Bella…oh my. Take a note from fashion’s it-girls that are swapping their red bottoms for rubber soles. Like peanut butter on a hamburger, it’s a weird combination that doesn’t make logical sense but satisfies your fashion taste buds all the same. Pairing your flirty summer dresses with a pair of kicks will take you from grocery shopping, to the dog park, and to an ice-cream date all without any pesky blisters.
If you’re hesitant to test the trend, start with a basic white shoe like Converse’s Chuck Taylor or all black Vans Slip-On. Black and white are the easiest to color-coordinate and create a cohesive look. As you become more adventurous with the sneaker trend, try a statement shoe with a leopard print or metallic pair. You don’t want to look like a cubicle queen that’s getting her daily walk in on her lunch break so don’t push the trend TOO far with your marathon-tested ASICS.
It’s no secret that I have a soft spot for sneaks. I’ve highlighted several of my favorite pair in Non-Goodwill Gold posts (here and here). The nearly new Joie slip-ons from this look were a STEAL at Goodwill for $6.99 and currently retail for $190!
Rarely does comfort trump pain in fashion so drop those heels and reach for those sneakers, ladies! How do you pair your sneakers and dresses? Leave me a note in the comments below.
My fav thus far!
