Feeling complacent with your wardrobe but don’t want to invest in trendy pieces for the changing seasons? No worries because the top fall/winter trends for 2018 are easy finds at your local Goodwill! Below are my five favorite fall trends to shop for at Goodwill.
Animal Print
Don’t put away that snakeskin skirt you snagged for Taylor Swift’s Reputation tour because animal print is all. the. rage. for the fall! If you’ve been dabbling in leopard print for a while, try a more bold print like a colored leopard, snake, or zebra print. Another fun way to make a statement is to layer bold tight under a neutral leopard print.
Plaid
You probably already have plaid pieces in your closet, but look for plaid pieces with a modern twist for fall and winter. For example, an unexpected color combination, blazers with a longer hem, or even a tweed twist. Blazers not your style? Look for a plaid skirt! The blazer I have on here was one of my finds from the recent Style With a Purpose event. While finding plaid blazers at Goodwill is fairly easy, this particular blazer stuck out to me because of the incorporation of purple into the pattern and boxy fit.
PRO TIP: If you have longer arms like me, don’t worry about finding sleeves that fit, just roll up your sleeves!
Western Wear
It’s time to dust off those cowboy boots you swore you would never wear again and raid your boot scootin’ obsessed uncle’s closet for his bolo tie. Keep your eyes peeled at your local Goodwill for vintage western shirts like this one from Maje, and pair it with high waisted jeans or a leather miniskirt.
Statement Shoulder
The drama of the 80s is back! 2017 was the year of the statement sleeve, but 2018 is the year of the statement shoulder. Goodwill has a plethora of 80s blazers and sweaters with shoulder pads! If you’re looking for something a little less Designing Women and subdued, try a mini dress with a smidge of a statement shoulder.
Logos
The past couple of seasons, we have seen resurgence of logo emblazoned shirts, bags, and even baby carriages (Hi Kylie!). Goodwill is the perfect place to find popular vintage pieces from Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Champion, and maybe even Fendi. (I found the vintage Fendi bag pictured here at the Goodwill outlet for under $1!)
I will be sporting all of these trends for fall and winter, but especially animal print. I am on the hunt for the perfect leopard sneaker! (Hi Santa!)
