2019 Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts that Give Back

I love giving and receiving a charitable gift that allows you to honor and celebrate a friend or family member while supporting a great cause! There are tons of companies and products out there making a difference in the world, but here are my favorite gifts that give back for 2019! (Check out my past gifts that give back holiday picks from 20152016, 2017, and 2018!)

For the beauty lover

For the pet lover

Rescue Pet Dish Towel Celebrate the love of a rescue pet (cat or dog) with a daily reminder and playful poem. Two dollars from the purchase price goes to Rescue City, a pet rescue and adoption non-profit in the New York City area.

For the best friend

The brand has pledged to donate £1 million of Hot Lips sales to the nonprofit Women for Women International, a charity helping women survivors of war rebuild their lives.

For the little bambinos

Milkbarn With a modern take on traditional animal prints and nostalgic patterns, Milkbarn offers kids’ clothing from newborn to 6Y. The brand also donates a significant percentage of profits to Exile International, a nonprofit with a mission to restore children orphaned by war in Central and East Africa. They’re also a local Middle Tennessee company!

For the guy

Adventurist Backpack Co. Whether for travel or everyday use, this backpack is a great option for the guy on your list. It also has a padded sleeve for a laptop. For every backpack that is purchased, 25 meals are provided to families in need across the country.

For the sweet tooth

Benevolent Brownies (also available in vegan) Is there anything better than chocolate and brownies? YES! Brownies for a cause! Greystone Bakery, the bakers of Benevolent Brownies, employ an open hiring model despite an employee’s history. They also provide a number of resources including child care, sustainability programs, community gardens, and workforce development. Did I mention Ben & Jerry’s exclusively uses these brownies in its ice cream?

For the one that’s always cold

Sackcloth & Ashes Cream and Neutral Stripe Throw Blanket A blanket is always a great gift because you can never have too many! Sackcloth & Ashes has a great mission to provide blankets to homeless shelters. For every blanket purchased, a blanket will be donated to a homeless shelter.

For the fitness fanatic

Here are a few of my current favorite items in this line: leopard fleece jacket, pullover, and good karma leggings (I own these and love them!)

For the Nashville local

Root Nashville As Nashville experiences unprecedented growth, the city is rapidly losing trees. Root Nashville, a partnership between Metropolitan Nashville and the Cumberland River Compact are pledging to plant 500,000 trees in Nashville by 2050. Launching this week, you can give choose from 4 tree species to plant a tree in Nashville in the recipient’s honor. Once the tree is planted, the recipient can locate the tree via online mapping.
