Feeling complacent with your wardrobe but don’t want to invest in trendy pieces for the changing seasons? No worries because the top summer trends for 2019 are easy finds at your local Goodwill! Below are my five favorite summer trends to shop for at Goodwill.

Shirt: Vintage via Goodwill (Similar Splurge // Save); Jeans: Gap; Jacket: Victoria Beckham for Target, old (available on eBay); Shoes: Diane von Furstenberg; Clutch: Goodwill (Similar Splurge // Save)

Tropical

Whether your summer plans involve a tropical vacation or not, bring the tropical vibes to your closet! If you’re hesitant to incorporate the trend in a landlocked state, try pairing a tropical button up with a pair of highwaisted dark denim for an edgier look.

Lavender

It’s not secret that I’ve had a love affair with lavender this spring. I wore a beautiful Badgley Mischka lavender gown to the Iris Ball and scored two lavender pieces from the recent Style With a Purpose event (check out my Insta highlight Goodwill Gold!) Lavender is a great color to wear throughout summer and into the fall where it can be paired with deep maroons or navy.

Polka Dots

In my opinion, polka dots are the most classic patter in all of fashion. For summer, I’m looking for polka dot pieces that mix different patterns of polka dots like this ASOS dress or polka dots mixed with florals like this dress. Since polka dots are a classic print, Goodwill is full of polka dot pieces that can easily be paired with other more polka dots, stripes, or florals.

Butterflies

Maybe it’s my obsession with Kacey Musgraves or my anticipation for TS7, but I adore everything emblazoned with butterflies, especially this dream D&G piece! Look for butterfly broaches or embellishments that could be easily removed and added to a denim jacket or repurposed into a barrette.

Volume

That’s a weird trend. What do you mean, VOLUME?! Salvage your hearing and turn up the volume on your wardrobe. I’m talking tiered ruffled skirts, puffy sleeves (like I’m wearing here), and even balloon pants. To prevent looking like a giant loofah with legs, focus on one voluminous piece and keep the rest fitted! Goodwill has a great selection of vintage pieces with a voluminous silhouette!
